Whether you're creating a 30-page comic, a memoir, a videogame script, or a fantasy trilogy, let me help you make your writing — and even more importantly, your STORY — the very best it can be! With me at your side, you will have a mentor, teammate, and cheerleader invested in your story's success.

I've worked with a wide range of individuals and groups both within the United States and internationally. Whether you're an experienced BAFTA nominee, successful multinational game publisher, world-renowned scholar, accomplished Webtoons creator, fanfiction writer, indie comic creator, or elementary schooler just learning the ropes, I believe everyone has a story to tell and it's my pleasure to help bring that story to the world!

As an Editor, I specialize in Developmental Editing and Editorial Assessments and possess a sensitivity to language and its usage that makes me adept at Line Editing and Copyediting in a variety of genres and styles, ensuring that language is strong and meaningful for a reader regardless of the medium.

Those who work with me often note my creative power and eagerness to explore even the most minute details. This unique attention to the finer points of storytelling elevates works to the next level and further ensures that your message reaches your readers.

An innate sense of the nuances of linguistics and language, a lifetime of reading, and a passion for storytelling combine to make me the type of editor who thrives in situations requiring both an artist's and logician's touch, melding entertainment with critical thought in a way that creates a truly unforgettable experience for readers. I am someone who excels at pulling out themes and ideas within a story that even you, the story's creator, may not have been fully aware of!

I have worked on numerous titles as an on-staff member of a traditional publisher's editorial team and played a part in preparing hundreds of books that were geared toward multinational markets, providing editorial and administrative support both one-on-one with authors and as part of a team.

As a freelancer, I have both edited and written for a variety of comic books, visual novels, novels, manga, memoirs, movie scripts, webtoons, webnovels, fanfiction, and short story projects geared for both independent and traditional publication, and have also been head prose editor of a literary magazine.

My breadth and depth of experiences in a wide array of formats, styles, and genres arm me with insight to help you route your story toward your goals, be it for personal enrichment, the underground indie scene, or toward pitching to agents and becoming the next bestseller from a top publishing house.

I work frequently with stories that don't fit squarely within singular or more traditional genres, and especially appreciate atypical or unique works that push me to use all of my skills.

When I'm not digging into a manuscript, I love getting my hands dirty gardening or hiking in the sultry summertime. I also love cooking, and love experimenting with new teas when the snow is falling in the cold Central Wisconsin winters. My best ideas often come to me when I'm exploring the beautiful natural world around me with my "pound special" mix, Zoey.

Continuing from where I left off and bringing with me all that I've learned at R&L, I make my return to full time freelancing as a writer and editor! With plenty of experiences under my belt and even more to come, I can't wait to work with even more amazing authors, and finish up my debut novel with the help of illustrator and one of the winners from a fanart contest I hosted back in 2017, Suomar. We've both grown a lot in the last few years, and I look forward to continuing to work together!

Starting in early 2020, I continued my journey in the realm of publishing as an Assistant Production Editor and got my first hands-on experience working within the framework of a traditional publisher specializing in academic-focused works.

I had the pleasure of working on hundreds of books during my year on the in-house staff with Rowman & Littlefield, doing it all at one of the hardest and most transformative times for traditional publishing in decades, possibly centuries.

Seeing how the landscape of lumbering old-school publishers transitioned from pencil and paper manuscript mail-ins to embracing digital tools practically overnight out of booming necessity as Covid shutdowns led to e-books finally overtaking print was a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience that I will never forget.

Furthering the pursuit of my passions, I continued my writing journey with the goal of taking what I discovered during my English studies to master the craft of creative writing and storytelling.

While working on my personal writing style and craft, I discovered my passion for editing and coaching other writers in the art of storytelling: a passion that outweighed even what I felt toward my own writing.

Upon entering into college, I knew I wanted to do something with the storytelling arts. I spent most of my time split between the Art and English departments, debating whether I would pursue my passions for drawing or for writing.

I soon found myself drawn to the school's newspaper (Journalism being something I also explored in High School), but left the paper in my second year to dedicate myself to the school's Literary Magazine, which spotlighted local writers. There I learned about being a Prose Editor, as well as dove headfirst into learning the art of setting the layout for the entire print magazine when the original person in that position left the group.

Following my passions, I explored the rich worlds painted by Romance writers and poets and worked with my fellow students to craft exceptional stories. I discovered a love for literature by writers such as Flannery O'Connor, Leslie Marmon Silko, and for Nature Literature, focusing heavily on these descriptive and often psychologically deep genres and styles of narration in their every aspect.

At the end of my two years I was honored to receive a Departmental Award on the recommendation of several English Department Professors for both my creative contributions and academic professionalism. One professor in particular noted how the unique conversational voice I employed made my writing "always distinguishable, even in blind review," and were consistently "the best she'd read in her 24 years as a Professor."
