Fresh (Re)Starts

Hello to all my friends, readers, and clients old and new!

As my birthday's come and gone again, I wanted to make a fresh start to another year of life with something new: a short and sweet blog to let you all know what I'm up to!

August marked the completion of a pair of projects I've had the pleasure of being a part of, Braiding Roses and Galactic Rodents of Mayhem, Volume 1, as well as the resumption of a couple others that've been in the works and on the backburner waiting for their time to shine!

Braiding Roses is a story I began editing earlier this year with first time author Elise. Through many twists and turns, heated discussions and compromises, this book evolved from its humble beginnings into something that's already garnered a handful of 4- and 5-star reviews! A light romance set in the Australian Outback that starts off a bit prickly, but that's sure to put you in a warm mood by its end.

Galactic Rodents of Mayhem—GROM for short—is a story that's had more than its share of setbacks in production, and is finally being fulfilled in its backers-exclusive printing! from its initial crowdfunding in 2019, through the pandemic that was particularly rough on the artist whose very soul is in every panel, to now when the book has finally been completed, I couldn't be more proud to work with author and creative force that is Gilbert Deltrez! If your idea of a good read would be a nostalgic trip to a story where TMNT meets Star Wars, consider picking up the preview volume distributed by Scout Comics (with full volume mass market paperback set to print in 2022), and by keeping an eye out for future volumes set to be crowdfunded via Kickstarter and Indiegogo!

In even more fresh news, the webcomic Little Rain has reached episode 19, the very episode where I began aiding the project with localization, line editing, and providing the English fine-tuning for this title by budding creator MomoxBubu! A mysterious story of a guardian angel trapped in a cat's body and with a lot simmering underneath, as someone who was reading the story long before being approached to assist with it, I always look forward to reading each chapter!

On a more personal note, many of you who have enjoyed my writing in the

past over on sites like DeviantArt and Patreon will be happy to know that Skylight Stories Kawena Volume 1: Child of the Sky, my debut illustrated novel, finally has its illustrator! Thanks to

the lovely talents of SUOMAR, we're currently hard at work on the first of a series of illustrations that will be going into the book that features some of the highlight scenes of everyone's favorite avians, Fallon and So-Rin. The current schedule has volume 1 looking ready for the printers by Spring of 2022, and I couldn't be more excited to finally seeing so many years of work finally come to fruition! Those of you who follow me over on Patreon will get sneak peeks of the art and layout in progress, as well as early access to the start of drafting Volume 3: Traversing the Open Sky.

As the first leaves begin to fall and Wisconsin weather transitions into the early stages of autumn, I look forward to bringing you all even more updates!
